File Menu

The File menu provides essential file operations. It also displays a list of recently accessed documents.

When opening existing or creating new files, and when the current file contains unsaved changes, a prompt will appear to let you save those changes before the new file is opened or created.

Files from the Recent Files list will restore their window- and last editing position. New files will open at the default Window location.

Here is an overview of each option:

• New Light Mode File
  Creates a new, blank document within the editor.
• New Dark Mode File
  Creates a new,blank document within the editor.
• Open
  Shortcut: Ctrl + O
  Opens an existing file from your computer. A standard file-open dialog box appears, allowing you to select the document.
• Save
  Shortcut: Ctrl + S
  Saves the current document. If the document has not been previously saved, the application will prompt you to choose a name and location.
• Save As…
  Allows you to save your current document under a different name or in a different location. This is helpful if you want to keep multiple versions of the same file.
• Recent Files
  Items labeled with numbers (1–9, 0) represent recently accessed files. Selecting one reopens that file, helping you quickly resume work without manually browsing for it. Up to 10 recent documents are remembered.
  For these, various settings are saved and restored, like zoom level, window position and bookmarks.
• Exit
  Closes the application. You will be prompted to save any unsaved work before the editor exits.
