License keys should be entered into the License Registration dialog as soon as possible.

Licenses:

  • All licenses are personal;
    You can install your license in all of your log-ins,
    but may not give it to other persons.
  • All licenses are perpetual;
    You can use the matching software as long as you like!
  • License keys can be used on more than one computer.
    They are registered while purchasing.
  • Valid licenses provide rights to update for 555 days, which is approximately one year and a half.
    But as said before, they don't expire, you can still use the software!
  • There is no subscription model, we don't collect your personal data (besides the purchasing information) and we don't use the Cloud to store any of your data.

  • CsNote is NO word processor.
    It is NOT meant for formatting books, brochures or any form of printed documentation. In fact, it DOESN'T EVEN HAVE a print function.
  • CsNote is NO Project or Task Management software.
    It does NOT handle project planning, scheduling, task assignment, timelines, budgeting, or progress tracking. It LACKS tools to organize or monitor project workflows.
  • CsNote is NOT a dedicated issue-tracking software.
    Intentionally, it does not use the issue related and DB-based structure of tools like Jira or Bugzilla.

END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA)

IMPORTANT — READ CAREFULLY:

This agreement is a legal contract between you and the software publisher (Cobasoft). By installing or using the software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

1. License and Permitted Use

  • You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license.
  • The license is for you, personally.
  • You may install and use the software on as many devices or logins as you like.
  • You may use it for personal or business purposes.
  • The license does not expire as long as you follow this agreement.

2. Trial / Shareware Use

  • The software may be used for trial or evaluation purposes with limited features.
  • The text length cannot exceed 2048 characters.
  • An additional [GetLicense] button is shown in the menu.

3. Restrictions

  • You may not:
  • Copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the software.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code (unless the law explicitly allows it).
  • Remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices.
  • Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, assign, or transfer the software or license.
  • Use the software for illegal purposes.

4. Ownership and Trademarks

  • The software is licensed, not sold.
  • All intellectual property rights remain with Cobasoft.
  • This agreement does not grant rights to Cobasoft trademarks, logos, or branding.

5. Updates

  • Updates or patches may be provided, but are not guaranteed.
  • Updates are optional and provided at Cobasoft’s discretion.
  • Valid licenses allow updates for 555 days, which is approximately one year and a half.
  • Backward compatibility is not guaranteed.
  • The software regularly calls its home server and checks for updates.

6. Offline Use & Data Privacy

  • The software operates entirely offline.
  • No cloud services or external servers are required.
  • No personal data or usage data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
  • All data created by the software remains exactly where you put it.

7. Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for:
  • Backing up your data.
  • Making sure the software fits your needs.
  • Verifying the accuracy of results produced by the software.
  • Cobasoft strongly recommends regular backups, especially for important data.

8. No warranty

  • THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
  • COBASOFT PROVIDES NO GUARANTEES THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
  • ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY, ARE DISCLAIMED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.

9. Limitation of liability

  • COBASOFT IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT
    OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING:
  • Data loss.
  • Lost profits.
  • Business interruption.
  • Hardware or software failure.
  • Cobasoft’s total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software, if any.

10. Indemnification

  • You agree to protect Cobasoft
    from claims or damages resulting from:
  • Your use or misuse of the software.
  • Violations of this agreement.
  • Violations of applicable laws.

11. Termination

  • This agreement ends automatically if you violate its terms.
  • Upon termination, you must stop using the software and delete all copies.
  • Sections on ownership, warranties, liability, and governing law remain in effect after termination.

12. Governing Law and Courts

  • The agreement is governed by German law.
  • Any disputes must be resolved in the courts where the registered office of Cobasoft resides.

13. Severability

  • If any part of this agreement is found invalid, the remaining parts stay enforceable.

14. Entire Agreement

  • This document is the complete agreement and replaces all prior agreements.
  • Changes are valid only if made in writing and approved by Cobasoft.
