Edit Menu
The Edit menu provides common text-editing operations to help you modify your document efficiently. Below is an overview of each command along with its keyboard shortcut:

Undo
Shortcut: Ctrl+Z
Reverses the last action you performed, helping you quickly revert unintentional changes. -
Redo
Shortcut: Ctrl+Y
Restores an action you previously undid. Use this to reapply changes. -
Cut
Shortcut: Ctrl+X
Removes the selected text and places it on the clipboard, so you can paste it elsewhere. If nothing is selected, it cuts the current paragraph. -
Copy
Shortcut: Ctrl+C
Copies the selected text to the clipboard without removing it from the document. If nothing is selected, it copies the current paragraph. -
Copy Clean
Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+C
Copies the selected text to the clipboard while removing special characters, like bullets, creating a “plain text” version of the content. -
Paste
Shortcut: Ctrl+V
Inserts the contents of the clipboard into your document at the cursor’s current location. -
Paste Clean
Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+V
Inserts cleaned contents of the clipboard into your document at the cursor’s current location. Cleaning removes special characters, like bullets. -
Delete
Key: <Del>
Removes the selected text or the character at the cursor, without copying it to the clipboard. -
Duplicate
Shortcut: Ctrl+D
Duplicates the currently selected text. If nothing is selected, it duplicates the current paragraph. -
Indent
Shortcut: Ctrl+Tab
Indents the selected text or the current line, useful for organizing paragraphs or code blocks. -
Outdent
Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Tab
Moves the selected text or current line back toward the left margin (opposite of indent). -
Search
Shortcut: Ctrl+F
Activates the Find field of the Search Bar to locate specific words or phrases in the document. If short text is selected, it is put into the Find field. -
Replace
Shortcut: Ctrl+H
Activates the Replace field of the Search Bar, which allows you to find specific text and replace it with new content. If short text is selected, it is put into the Replace field. -
Toggle Case
Shortcut: Ctrl+J
Switches selected text between upper-, mixed and lowercase letters. -
Select Paragraphs
Shortcut: Ctrl+P
Selects the entire paragraph where the cursor is currently located.
If the complete paragraph is already selected, it adds the following one. -
Select Hierarchy
Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+P
Selects an hierarchy of paragraphs. Stops on empty lines or when it detects the end of a hierarchy paragraphs. -
Select Word
Shortcut: Ctrl+W
Selects the entire word where the cursor is currently located. -
Split Lines
Splits the selected text into lines.
After clicking this item, a prompt will ask for the line length. The default is 60. You may enter any number between 8 and 400. The lines are then split so that no line is longer than the given length. If possible, lines are split after the characters ",;:.?!:". In effect, long texts should become more readable and manageable.
